![]() I can edit the frames themselves, similar to graphics gale, than adjust the canvas position for the next ‘sprite sheet frame’ and edit that. Additionally, it has a separate preview for animation. Similar to flash/toon boom/other animation programs. It has an animation timeline for animation. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require me to go through much hoops to save. You can animate in Aseprite, and separate each animation with tags (for example, one tag for a walk-cycle, another tag for an attack animation, and another tag for an idle animation), so you can basically know where to find certain animation in your work It’s a lightweight software, so you don’t need to worry about it using so much memory or taking so much space in your PC You can even add community-made skins to it! Which change the appearance of Aseprite, most of these can be found on GitHub It lets you export your work in a bigger resolution, which respects the original canvas/sprite size The way it handles palettes is a lot better than any pixel art program I used. One of the most used software for Pixel Art, and thus, it have a very alive community, with his own forums and artists doing wonders to help/show what Aseprite is capable of Compared to other programs like Photoshop, Aseprite is totally focused on Pixel Art, and that’s good, because there’s some options and things that you wouldn’t see in your normal editing program, like the “Pixel Perfect” option, which if you activate it, your lines will not have Doubles (which is a common problem for beginners in this kind of art) It’s beginner-friendly, so you can basically learn everything about the software in a lot less of time, compared to other programs like the already mentioned Photoshop You can add scripts to Aseprite, which can add a lot of things, like exporting to a file such as APNG, for example. Especially since I find it easier to pick colors from there. The color wheel (the option to be not square) is greatly appreciated. I was able to quickly pick up its shortcuts, which are similar to Photoshop’s. This software stands head and shoulders above the rest in ease-of-use and options. I’ve moved to this as my sole tool, though I’ve used Adobe Photoshop, Pixly, Pixel Art Studio, Piskel, and some others. As far as the pixel art painting interface, it is quite good. Aseprite’s animation layers also adds some serious flexibility too. This way you can mess around with it for now, and when you finally do save up enough and you want to support the dev's great work, you can buy a copy then.Very professional, clean, and with a lot of options/keyboard shortcuts for managing the animation frames. The only downside is that when the dev releases a new version and you want the newest update, you have to download the code again. If that's too intimidating or confusing, there are also video tutorials you can follow floating around on YouTube. The Aseprite developer has straightforward instructions on how to do that in the program's GitHub repository. Compiling means translating into language that a computer can read (eventually boiling down to 1s and 0s), and to do that you need to download some third-party tools and give the computer a few instructions on what to do with those tools. If that doesn't interest you, you can skip the incoming wall of text.īasically, as I understand it, when you write a program, it's written in language that's easy for a human to read, but hard for a computer to understand. That said, I compiled both my copies of Aseprite from its source code, so I didn't pay a thing. I really like the simple interface it allows me to focus on my work and not get overwhelmed by features I'll never use, which is invaluable to me as a novice. ![]()
![]() “On march 17, 1959, the Tsongdu, the Tibetan Nacional Assembly as well as the Kashag, the Council of Ministers, had taken the decision that the Dalai Lama should leave Lhasa immediately, as in their view his life was in danger.” 8 Protests against Mao’s policies were taking place in Tibet, and suspecting that the Chinese government would attempt to capture the Dalai Lama, his escape was planned. Tensions continued increasing, resulting in the Dalai Lama’s exile. 7 The news of Tibetan occupation may have created international interest on the topic, but no political intervention took place probably due to the fact that China is a powerful country, and most countries are not willing to break economic ties or have bad relationships because of an issue that does not affect them directly, which may still be the cause of the unwillingness to take more action in current times. Widespread poverty became a new problem in Tibet, accompanied by abuse of basic human rights. “While the communists believed that Marxism was the cure for all the world’s problems and that communization would create a perfect society, the Tibetans looked for rewards beyond the present life, since as Buddhists they believed that any sort of mundane existence is unsatisfactory.” 6 The Chinese claimed that all their policies were aimed at the Tibetan people’s benefit, but despite all the promises the situation worsened and the relations between Mao and the Dalai Lama worsened. The difference in ideologies between Tibet and China was extremely marked. This invasion can be seen as the start of the decline in Tibetan Buddhism, since it was the moment when the Chinese started attempting to eliminate Tibetan religion and culture in order to enhance their control over Tibet. 5 Therefore, with no international allies or support, and not enough military power to repel a foreign invasion, the Dalai Lama had no choice but to surrender to Mao Zedung’s power. ![]() ![]() A year later, the Chinese invasion took place, and this shows how since the beginning of his governance, the circumstances were unfavorable for Tibet, which was clearly in need of a strong leadership.Īt this moment, one of the most important characteristics of Tibet was its isolation, which was primarily determined geographically, but increased by the fact that they allowed the fewest possible foreign people in their country, which they thought was the best way of ensuring peace. 4 However, in 1950 an oracle indicated that the fourteenth Dalai Lama should assume power even though he had not yet reached the normal age of maturity, and therefore he assumed temporal and religious control of Tibet at the age of sixteen. He is a Bodhisattva that has ruled Tibet for centuries in the different lives in which he has reincarnated, a fact that gives him divine attributes.Ĭommonly, when a Dalai Lama dies, a Regent is appointed by the National Assembly to govern while the next one is found and until he reaches maturity. This process represents how the role of the Dalai Lama is much more than that of a governor or a president. ![]() The Dalai Lama is one of them, and before dying they commonly make predictions about their rebirth, which are then followed by different tests to make sure that the right person was found. “All such incarnate beings can influence, by their own wishes in each life, the place and time when they will be reborn, and after each birth, they have a lingering memory of their previous life which enables others to identify them.” 3 Bodhisattvas are those who are able to achieve enlightenment, but they postpone it in order to teach other people their knowledge to help them reach nirvana. 2 The only way out of that cycle is through achieving enlightenment, which is the highest stage in Buddhism. However, when there are powerful events that shape someone’s life, it is possible, through meditative training, to gain access to those memories. In order to understand how these changes occured, it is important to know what a Dalai Lama is, and the historical circumstances in which the current one assumed power.Īccording to the Buddhist faith, every being is reborn over and over again in a cycle, in which most people cannot remember their past lives. Among these changes we can find the newfound international interest in Tibet after the Dalai Lama’s exile, later strengthened by the Nobel Peace Price he was awarded the end of isolationism of Tibet, accompanied by the spread of Buddhism to the West with increasing popularity the revival of Buddhism in Tibet, followed by a rise in nationalism the democratization of the Tibetan government in exile and, finally, the Dalai Lama’s shift from being a traditional local leader to becoming an international figure. ![]() 2c システム msOS Windows タイプ Nvidia AMD v 16. Compliance analyses suggested some benefits for people with dementia who attended more reminiscence sessions however, carers attending more groups showed increased caregiving stress. Carers of people with dementia allocated to the reminiscence intervention reported a significant increase in anxiety on a subscale of the GHQ-28 at the 10-month end point (mean difference 1.25, SE 0.5 F = 8.28 p = 0.04). The intention-to-treat analysis identified no differences in outcome between the intervention and control conditions on primary or secondary outcomes. Secondary outcome measures included autobiographical memory and activities of daily living for the person with dementia, carer stress for the carer and mood, relationship quality and service use and costs for both parties. The primary outcome measures were self-reported quality of life for the person with dementia and psychological distress for the carer. Up to 12 dyads were invited to attend each group. The sessions followed a treatment manual, and were led by two trained facilitators in each centre, supported by a number of volunteers. The intervention consisted of joint reminiscence groups held weekly for 12 consecutive weeks, followed by monthly maintenance sessions for a further 7 months. A total of 350 dyads completed the study. PARTICIPANTSĪ total of 488 individuals (mean age 77.5 years) with mild to moderate dementia (meeting Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-Fourth Edition criteria), who were initially living in the community, and who had a relative or other caregiver maintaining regular contact, who could act as an informant and was willing and able to participate in the intervention, were recruited to the study. ![]() Assessments were usually carried out in the person's home, and treatment groups were held in a variety of community settings. Most participants were recruited through NHS Memory Clinics and Community Mental Health Teams for older people. Assessments, blind to treatment allocation, were carried out at baseline, 3 months and 10 months (primary end point). A restricted dynamic method of randomisation was used with an overall allocation ratio of 1 : 1, restricted to ensure intervention groups of a viable size. DESIGNĪ multicentre, pragmatic randomised controlled trial with two parallel arms - an intervention group and a usual-care control group - was carried out. The aim of the REMiniscence groups for people with dementia and their family CAREgivers (REMCARE) study was to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of joint reminiscence groups for people with dementia and their family caregivers as compared with usual care. On SoFurry, Flash files already download directly as a file instead of playing in the browser itself. They can however be downloaded as an SWF file to run on software that supports them. Time is running out for those animations that are only playable with Flash on their original sites. But despite the animation being saved in video format, foxy fluffs being motion tweens may not amount for much in a post-Flash world. Remember Foxy Fluffs are Everything? Someone did “port” it to YouTube (adult language/situations warning in case you haven’t seen it). Luckily, some of the most famous, or infamous, pieces of Flash history are preserved as videos. Flash is going the way of the dodo, due to Adobe dropping support for their Flash Player plugin and browsers withdrawing support in turn and with it a substantial piece of furry history will no longer function in most browsers as of 2021. The Airshot is a simple beast, just a bottle with valve on the top, a switch, and a hose to connect to your tyre. It's a neat and compact system designed to make ones life easier. The Airshot is a metal canister which is inflated by a track pump, then when sufficient pressure is stored, a simple valve releases the air into the tyre. Now my long preamble takes me to the product in hand, which is designed especially for those who don't have a shed, or any shop skills, or just want a solution delivered to their door in a tidy package. Simple but effective, the Airshot makes things better. Other more advanced options I've see included a re-purposed fire extinguisher and even a old metal pipe.Īirshot Tubless Inflator. ![]() Coke bottles were adapted to act as a container for a few hundred PSI and ta-da, tyres could be fired on in minutes. ![]() ![]() The solutions to these problems came in the form of practical folk who disappeared into their sheds, found some tools and valves and made themselves bottle rockets. Now tyres and rims have got much better, and many good tyres will inflate with a decent track pump, but given half a chance a tyre will always try and make your life hell, especially on the morning of a big ride or race! Washing up liquid, zip ties, swearing, old inner tubes, all of these still fill my nightmares. Bike shops had compressors to do the job, but the poor home mechanic had to come up with innovative ways to get tyres onto rims. Sealant, tape and pumping like a lunatic were all part of the ritual. Unfortunately, behind every successful installation of a tubeless system was a story of pain, agony and despair. No more pinch flats, lower pressures, more grip, the world of tyres looked rosy. The rims and tyres developed at speed, and the mountain bike world took to the new technology as fast as possible. Once mounted, it’s a good idea to give the wheel a shake and rotate it, so that the sealant covers the inside of the tyre, helping to stop any potential leaks.Tubeless inflation has traditionally been a right faff.Attach the Airshot tubeless inflator to the valve and follow the instructions in the Airshot box for trouble free tubeless inflation.Mount the other side of the tyre, ensuring the valve is pointing upwards from the floor.Add some sealant, usually around 50 ml is sufficient, but it can depend on tyre size.Seat your tyre on only one side, as you would if you were fitting a tube.Push your tubeless specific valve through the hole and tighten the lock nut.Pierce a hole in the tape in-line with the hole in the rim.Ensure tape is pulled taught when wrapped around the rim leaving a smooth taped surface overlapping the tape by 6 inches or so is advised.Rims vary in width so it’s a good idea to purchase tape of a similar width as your rim.Clean the rim thoroughly giving the tape the best chance of sticking to the rim and creating an air tight seal. The rim must be taped so that air does not leak out of the spoke eyelets.Tubeless setupįollow these 12 step-by-step instructions to get started with running tubeless on your bike Sounds good? Follow the steps below to setup tubeless with ease. Tubeless setups reduce rotating weight and you can run much lower pressures and still keep a relatively good rolling speed. Why, JBL? And why is this not described anywhere? This is precisely the reason why I bought a second box. Only when you connect your box to your phone. But how nice if there are several? Here and there details are lost, but I do not find this disturbing at such a high volume. I turn the volume up loud and voice still sounds pretty clear. He does this without compromising too much on the sound quality. One of the nicest things about this speaker is that it produces a high volume. I just regret that I can't pair it with a JBL Charge 4. Because of the powerful sound and the water resistance, I think this is the ideal speaker for both indoor and outdoor use. The JBL Charge 5 is the successor of the Charge 4 and the fifth speaker from the Charge series. |
